Buhari Storms Kuje Prison After Boko Haram Attack President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday visited the Kuje Medium Correctional Centre hours after it was attacked by terrorists suspected to be members of Boko Haram.   Naija News earlier reported that the heavily armed gunmen invaded the federal facility around 10.30pm and successfully operated for about one hour unhindered. It was learned they reportedly freed Boko Haram inmates and other detainees at the correctional centre. Other inmates also used the opportunity of the attack to escape from the Kuje Prison. Meanwhile, over fifty inmates who escaped during a terrorist attack on Kuje Prison on Tuesday evening have been recaptured. The escapees were rearrested by officials of the Nigerian Correctional Services, NCS, on Wednesday and also returned to the facility. 1. Buhari Re-appoints Saratu Umar As NIPC CEO President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday approved the appointment of Hajiya Saratu A. Umar as Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC).   Naija News reports that this was made known in a statement by Buhari’s media aide, Garba Shehu. Saratu Umar’s appointment is for another term of five years. 1. Buhari Sends Warning To Nigerians As He Commissions 55-kilometre Road In Yobe President Muhammadu Buhari has sent warnings to motorists as he commissioned a 55-kilometre road in Yobe. At the commissioning of the road linking Nguru-Gashu’a-Bayamari, the President outlined the major causes of damage on the Nigerian roads. 1. 2023: My WAEC Certificate Is Missing, Lost And Cannot Be Found – Okowa Tells INEC The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ifeanyi Okowa has reportedly informed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that his WAEC certificate is missing. It was gathered that Okowa informed INEC about the missing certificate as part of his filings for eligibility in the race for the 2023 elections. He said in an affidavit to that effect that he enrolled and sat for the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) West African School Certificate (WASC) examinations in the year 1974.
