Common mistakes in English Language that we make everyday

English language is a language we mostly use in Nigeria when communicating with other people of different languages. It is good that we know the rules of English, and abide by it. Many people believe that we don't need to learn it because we have out local languages, but the truth is that we need to learn every part of it, so that we can communicate without much errors.

Here are some of the mistakes we make and the correct form of it:

1. Advise and Advice: Advise is a verb while Advice is a noun. Example. Don't say, I have an advise for you, but say, I have an advice for you.

2. Between and Among: Between is when you are referring to two persons while among is when you are referring to more than two persons.

3. Compliment and Complement: Compliment is when you are saying something nice, like you look good: thanks for your compliment. While Complement means added to. Eg: I will wear glasses to complement my looks.

4. Stationary and Stationery: Stationery is writing materials while Stationary is something immovable.

5. It's and Its: It's is the short form of It is.

Hope you enjoyed it?👍
