3 Foods You Should Avoid Eating Before Going To Bed

According to health line, these 3 foods should not be eaten before bed time because they can prevent you from sleeping well or reduce the quality of your sleep.

1. Fast foods.

Fast foods are processed food. These foods contain excess sugar and sodium and excess sugar in the blood can increase your body's resistance to insulin and this can affect your sleep.

Eating fast foods or processed foods regularly can also make you gain weight excessively. If you want to sleep well, don't eat fast foods before going to bed.

2. Spicy foods.

Foods that contain a lot of pepper and other spices should not be eaten before bed time. This is because spicy foods can cause acid reflux, heart burn, indigestion and bloating. These factors can prevent you from having a good sleep because they'll make you uncomfortable.

Sometimes when you lay down on your bed to sleep, the symptoms might become worse and it could cause irritation. However this only happens temporarily (the heart burn, acid reflux and indigestion disappears after a while) and this doesn't happen to everyone.

3. Foods that are high in saturated fats.

Several studies have depicted that eating foods that are high in saturated fats and trans fats before going to bed, like: beef, pork, full fat milk and dairy products, butter, ice cream, pastries and the likes.

These foods can hinder your sleep, so it is best to avoid eating these foods before bed time so that your body can have a good rest
