PDP: Analyst says Odii victory in Ebonyi will promote peace

A political analyst, Mr Okey Maduforo, says flying of  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag in Ebonyi in 2003 by its Governorship Candidate,  Dr Chukwuma Odii, would promote peace in the party. Maduforo made the assertion in a statement in Enugu on Tuesday. He noted that Odii won Ebonyi PDP governorship primary election  monitored by officials of Independent National Electoral Commission and some other organs of government. Maduforo urged the leadership of PDP not to succumb to any pressure to change its governorship candidate in Ebonyi. He noted that election of a candidate could   only be revered by a court of competent jurisdiction. A business mogul, Mr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, on Sunday emerged winner of a factional gubernatorial primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ebonyi State. The election took place at the Party’s secretariat located along Abakaliki/Enugu expressway of the State. Odii hails from Onitcha Local government Area of Ebonyi State, same Ebonyi South senatorial zone with the Governor of the State, Chief David Umahi, who is currently serving out his 8 years tenure. Odii was declared winner by the gubernatorial committee chairman for Ebonyi State, Mr. Rotimi Olaleken. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said it’s Special National Convention/ Presidential primary will go ahead today (Saturday) as scheduled. 2023: Delegates accreditation begins at PDP National Convention

Delegates from different states of the federation are arriving the venue for accreditation. The accreditation of national delegates for the 2022 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention has commenced at Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that delegates from different states of the federation are arriving the venue for accreditation. Delegates are being accredited simultaneously state by state using the six geopolitical zones. NAN reports that the delegates are being accredited with their mean4s of identification which include driver licence, INEC Permanent Voter Cards, National Identify Cards on the list on delegates provided by the party.
